Does daisy-chaining 5D via Thunderbolt affect performance?
I have 27" Cinema Display connected directly into one of the thunderbolt ports on my Drobo 5D, then I have the Drobo 5D connected to my new 27" iMac via Thunderbolt.

I want to know if having the monitor connected to the 5D in any way will affect the performance of the 5D?

Please advise. Thanks!

Nope, DisplayPort and Thunderbolt have separate dedicated channels. You'll get full performance. Smile

Drobo 5N | 250GB Samsung 850 EVO mSATA | 2 x 4TB Seagate, 3 x 4TB Hitachi | FS/EXT3 diskpack
Peak performance >100MBps read/write (based on FS disk pack, no jumbo frames, no SSD)
DroboPorts: Plex, Transmission, OpenSSH, NFS, nano, screen, bash

Agreed, no negative effects on performance. In fact, I've daisy chained 6 units via thunderbolt including the 27in iMac, no difference.
