RE: crucial msata how to update firmware?
Might be a bit late to the thread, but I thought I'd put my experience here. I just got a 128GB mSATA drive (not a Crucial brand) and I found out there was a firmware update for it. Problem was I didn't have a PC with an open SATA channel to plug into; lots of laptops and iMacs, but no vanilla PC I could open and use the SATA connector. I tried various USB-SATA bridges and while the drive was visible to the computer the update utility couldn't see the SSD. After a lot of research I learned that I needed a direct connection to the PC's SATA channel (not a bridge) for the utility to function.

After all that I found out that my SSD shipped with the latest firmware and I didn't need to update after all. Smile

RE: crucial msata how to update firmware?
Just updated to 04MH. Had to use an old netbook, a 2.5in to mSATA adapter, and needed to replace the internal HDD with it in order for the flash to detect it. Once I got over that hurdle, it was smooth sailing.
