RE: Drobo firmware update for greater than 2TB drive support now available!
Based both on my own personal experience and also on experiences of others on the forums.. unfortunately Drobo's do sometimes stop being available while rebuilding. there doesnt seem to be a "fix".

As long as it is still flashing orange and green it is still rebuilding.

once it is finished and its all solid green - it should just reappear (usually immediately - it MAY take a reboot though)

its a pain to not have access during the rebuild; but there isnt anything you can do it stop it so you will just have to be patient and let it finish.

I have a owned a Drobo v1, v2, DroboPro, Drobo 5D, DroboFS, Drobo 5N and DroboPro FS

I currently have a Windows 2016 Server with 8 x 8TB Seagate Archive Drives, 14 x 8TB WD Red and 3 x 8TB WD Gold

Will my Drobo 2 work with 8TB Drives?

it's working fine with 4x4TB at the moment.

Thanks.

Generally yes it will work with 8TB disks.

However it does not currently support SMR drives (The Seagate 8tb archive drive for instance).
