Reformat 14.48 TB to 64 TB
I have two Drobo 5D's I purchased in 2015 formatted to hold a maximum 14:48 TB, each filled with 5 4TB hard drives, with a bit over 13 TB of info stored in each.

If I understand correctly, I could now purchase two of the new 10 TB drives, download all the info in one Drobo onto the drives, upgrade the Drobo firmware, reformat the unit to hold the new 64 maximum TB, transfer the info from the two 10 TB back into the Drobo unit, then replace two of the 4 TB hard drives with the 10, greatly increase my storage capacity, continue replacing 4 TB drives with 10 TB until I had the maximum available to me, then do the same with the other drive.

Am I correct?

Any recommendations as to which 10 TB drives work best with the Drob0 5D? For tax purposes, I want to order the drivers before 2016 ends. I would have acted sooner, but up until this week I lacked the funds.

Thank you.

That sounds about right. Just make a backup of everything first. I would make two separate backups just to feel secure myself.
