RE: CrashPlan Drobo App
I saw that my Crashplan was no longer active. Today was the day I found to finally investigate the issue.

I installed java8 and Crashplan 4.2.0, but now I get this message from Crashplan:

Code:
# ./crashplan/service.sh start
Dependency java8 is not enabled.

looking at java8, I found this status:

Code:
# ./java8/service.sh status
java8 is disabled and running

how can it be disabled and running?

Can you help me find out the issue Ricardo?

Thanks

RE: CrashPlan Drobo App
Check the file "/mnt/DroboFS/Shares/DroboApps/.servicerc". Remove any lines starting with java8.

Wait, are you running on a DroboFS? I haven't been able to test that version yet. That is why it is marked as pre-release on Github.

No, I am on the 5N. Just to make sure, I deleted and reinstalled the package, same issue.

RE: CrashPlan Drobo App
Your log file showed this:
Quote:[05.21.15 01:09:39.767 INFO main root ] Previous Java memory max heap size was 128

This only shows on the FS version. Please make sure that you installed the 5N version.

RE: CrashPlan Drobo App
FYI: I think I fixed the problem that was preventing CrashPlan from starting. Please re-download 4.2.0 for your Drobo from https://github.com/droboports/crashplan/releases.

RE: CrashPlan Drobo App
Hi

Installed Crashplan 4.2.0 yesterday and got it running.

Had to restart my Drobo 5N today and after that Crashplan no longer runs; "enabled and stopped".

I've checked both java and locale and they're running. Trying to start Crashplan sends no error messages (./Share/DroboApps/crashplan/services.sh start), it appears to work but the status query reports "enabled and stopped".

I've had similar problem earlier where Crashplan runs after a clean install but fails over time and certainly after a reboot of the Drobo.

What to do?

----------
Edit below:

Now I found multiple restart.2015-06-...log-files in crashplan/app/bin-folder.
Similar contents:

Tue Jun 2 05:57:05 PDT 2015 : /mnt/DroboFS/Shares/DroboApps/crashplan/app/bin/restart.sh
Tue Jun 2 05:57:05 PDT 2015 : APP_BASENAME=CrashPlan
Tue Jun 2 05:57:05 PDT 2015 : DIR_BASENAME=crashplan
Tue Jun 2 05:57:05 PDT 2015 : Stopping using ./CrashPlanEngine...

Tue Jun 2 05:57:05 PDT 2015 : Sleeping 10 seconds...
Tue Jun 2 05:57:16 PDT 2015 : Starting using ./CrashPlanEngine...
/mnt/DroboFS/Shares/DroboApps/crashplan/app/bin/restartLinux.sh: line 21: ./CrashPlanEngine: not found
Tue Jun 2 05:57:16 PDT 2015 : New Service Process below:
Tue Jun 2 05:57:16 PDT 2015 : Exiting restart script

Why is this?

it looks to be working now with 4.2.0-1. I forgot to changed the servicePort back to 4243, the GUI was then unable to connect to the host. I looked into the log, and saw on which port I should connect and it is now connected.

It is now syncing with the server, and should probably start backing up soon.
